Patient group

We have an active patient participation group at our practice.

The Patient Participation Group (PPG) is made up of patients of the surgery and works with the practice team to address issues that affect all patients and how the practice operates. They do this in numerous ways, including:

  • Acting as a Critical Friend to help us understand where things aren’t working and to challenge us to improve performance and patient experience, as well as Championing when we are doing things well.
  • Presenting feedback and views from the community, and Advising us about what people want and need
  • Researching and Presenting options or opportunities, so that we provide different services or work in a way that better suits our patients.
  • Supporting the practice in the community, by Communicating and Sharing key messages and
  • Working Collaboratively with us to be the best that we can be.

The Practive Team and Patient Participation Group meet approximately every 3 or 4 months for a couple of hours to do this, alternating between the Hawkshead and Ambleside areas.

We aim to have around 12 members of the PPG, to present a diverse range of patients and experiences, and we currently have vacancies.
